Are we humans, or are we denser?

One fine day, I woke up to this news of a really young dalit girl being harassed by two policemen. What I saw, shocked me to my core. It simply gave me goose bumps. As I read more, I understood that this little kid was being tortured as a part of a punishment for stealing Rs. 280. The way those policemen pulled her hair, slapped her repeatedly, shook me. This news was covered by all the news channels and the video flashed on every TV in every household in India.

This wasn't really enough for me, when the very next day I read this news on a popular news website. A homeless man being beat mercilessly by two cops. What I saw in the video, amazed me. I was questioning myself, are those 2 hqumans beating another human?

These and other countless incidences left me shattered to each and every fiber in my body. I now had questions for myself and for everyone. Are we humans, or are we really denser? Are we so transparent in today's world, or are are we something more than we claim. Love is what separates us humans from other living things. But I fail to see love and see violence and being practical more sensible to people.

I fail to see the purpose of violence in the first place, in any person's life. I refuse to be a part of the world which has no place for love, which has no place for respect towards the elders. I refuse to accept that love alone cannot make a family or even feed a family. I refuse to understand people who need something more than love.

The whole system fails to notice that there is a higher power, there is someone sitting right above us watching us. Every single day, every single moment. I don't like to say this, but we are testing his patience. If we continue to act in this inhuman way, if we continue to put love on the backseat, I am pretty sure the day to apocalypse is not far. Revelation is not far!!

As I write this, my sister's birthday clocks out. Happy Birthday to my darling little sister. I have loved her as always, without any personal interests or any selfishness. Although some people fail to see that, I believe, I will keep loving her. She has seen me through ups and downs, I loved because of her and I suffered right in front of her. She still is the little one for me although she is now 24 :-). It makes me feel proud when I say, she is my sister.

Things change as times change, people kiss and walk away, waving goodbye. I have no regrets. But what about now? The lamp of love is still glowing even when shadows fill the empty heart, as love fades away. Can we really see beyond the scars and make it to the dawn? The skies will change their colors, there will be clear blue skies with little white puffs. The sun is breaking in your eyes to start a new day. The broken heart of these kids can still survive with love, as shadows will fade into the light. What if the love we had never went away, its just lost somewhere behind words we couldn't find. Don't forget, we are humans; or are we?
