What is a genius? What is an artist? What is a living legend? What is a megastar? What is perseverance? The answers to all these questions for millions of people out there echo out as Michael Jackson! A megastar in true sense and a person who redefined the term "Professional Entertainer", he was the most prolific superstars to walk this planet. The biggest storm of pop music that would sweep the world in an occult dream, a dream that no one would want to get out of. The brightest of stars and the showman for whom billions and trillions lined up. A man who made history and changed the way everyone looked at dancing . This is MJ!! He has given the world its finest gift in the last 4 decades, his talent. In a country where black was treated as insignificant and amidst the racist turmoil, a star emerged and made its mark on the entire human race. Right from 8-10 year old kids to fathers and grandfathers and mothers and grandmothers, everyone

Are we humans, or are we denser?

One fine day, I woke up to this news of a really young dalit girl being harassed by two policemen. What I saw, shocked me to my core. It simply gave me goose bumps. As I read more, I understood that this little kid was being tortured as a part of a punishment for stealing Rs. 280. The way those policemen pulled her hair, slapped her repeatedly, shook me. This news was covered by all the news channels and the video flashed on every TV in every household in India. This wasn't really enough for me, when the very next day I read this news on a popular news website. A homeless man being beat mercilessly by two cops. What I saw in the video, amazed me. I was questioning myself, are those 2 hqumans beating another human? These and other countless incidences left me shattered to each and every fiber in my body. I now had questions for myself and for everyone. Are we humans, or are we really denser? Are we so transparent in today's world, or are are we something more than we claim. Lo

Wish You Were Here

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from hell, Blue skies from pain, Can you tell a green field, From a cold steel rail, A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? So, so you think we can change, Everybody that hates, Before it's too late? So proud to be free, But who could we blame? Don't be ashamed, Do you think we can change? How I wish, how I Wish You Were Here We were, two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year Running over the same old ground, But have we found, The same old fears, Wish you were here !! We don't need anymore pain, We just need to remain on the very same page, So much to gain, No more to losing a love, brother's or sisters or a friend, Than losing ourselves, Or no more do we care, We just need your help, So glad you are here , And did they get you to trade, your heroes for ghosts? hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange, a walk on part in the war, for a lead role in a cage? How

We The People

Lately its been chill time in my life here in Charlotte, specially with the summer drawing along, with no classes and just an 8-5 job. One more thing observed during summer is that lot of people come and meet you (may be to while away their time or may be mine). This gave me an opportunity to start a new activity; analyzing people :-) ... to while away my time. This post was started with the above "preface" about 7 months back. (15th July 2008) to be precise. I think I gave myself enough time to analyze people so that I could do justice to the task. Today, I am simply amazed at how different everyone thinks and how people behave under different circumstances. Trying to understand this would be like solving an N-P hard problem (for my techie friends) or counting the stars in the sky. Let me give a gist of some of my experiences. One that tops the charts and has the maximum "jaw dropping" factor on my list is a person who did the unthinkable. I cannot still believe

The man who grew young

Think about this phenomena. Think about a world where this could happen. This is something that is stuck in my mind for quite some time now. This is a story about Adam, a story for all of us, a reminder for many of us and a message for some of us. Adam was born in South Park, Colorado so to say. However, he was born as an 60-65 year, old looking, hunch back guy. Everyone was in a dismay as they saw him, including his parents. But god had some unique plans for this baby. As years passed by people started noticing that this new born was living a unique phenomena. This baby was growing younger as he grew old. As years passed by this kid turned into a fine looking man and he started going to school. As years passed along he started playing with the kids in the nearby locality and he started attending the elementary school. Every year as he celebrated his birthday lil Adam would come to his mother and say "Hey mom, I am growing younger and I grew one year younger today, I am afraid of

Series of unfortunate events!!

Coming to US for higher studies was not a good idea. This is what comes to my mind when my friends sitting in India say "You are don, doing MS and all in US". I get to this conclusion looking at the series of unfortunate events that started happening the moment I decided I wanted to go, till date. The events keep on piling up and never promise to cease. Year 2007 was not the best year I ever had, unfortunately twas the worst year of my life. A series of unfortunate events with friends and family were not enough when another day in 2007 walked along with a not so pleasant news of self realization. The only good thing I felt happened, was the visa grant and me coming over here. The self realization was not good enough when I lost my love. Yes, its pretty much open. I lost her. I traveled here hoping to make great new friends. As one of my friends wrote on his Gmail status message, "Welcome to USA, the land of opportunities and the land of ultimate loneliness", it was
